I don't know if it's ok to call them that any more as they got the regional name protection thing last week, didn't they.
Anyway, there they were this morning, sitting on the counter.
I can see them going well.

But it'll be like sellotape and hoover won't it? Folk will never stop saying cornish for that meat and potatoes in pastry thing. Just use the small 'c' I s'pose - isn't a 'cornish' something else anyway?  Roll Eyes

So you didn't try one yet then smokie?

If I'd had half a brain, I'd have thought ahead and brought one home for my tea but it never occurred to me.
When they were making the home made pasties last year it caused a "heftily raised" eyebrow when Canada Bob asked in another local eaterie if their pasties were supplied by Le Moka.
Of course, being Canada Bob, the question may not have been asked as innocently as you'd first think.
Anyway, his dinner was "plonked" down in front of him and it was a case of "service with a grimace".

Meat and potato thing!!!where i live you could get burnt at the stake for saying such a thing... : Grin Grin A proper  Cornish pasty consist of beef(skirt or chuck) potato, onion, swede..and salt and pepper.wrapped in in a pastry case..any other ingredient then it just becomes a pasty...says he who originally comes from Devon.... which is where the pasty was invented Grin but thats another story..
