Just curious - is this something that bar/restaurant owners find in the Canaries - and are we Brits really mean, in general, compared to the Spaniards?

Hi Jingle Celty

I think the article means that the non eurozone people tip too much in euros - all my Spanish and French friends are mean as can be. 

They say that €3 is the right amount to tip for any meal - well actually a Spanish girl (younger than you) and a Frenchwoman (older than me).
