I turned 14 in 1976, and I am surprised that I don't remember as many tracks from that year as I thought I might have done.  (I must have been focused on things other than music!)  Anyhow, my the ones that stir my nostalgia most of all are:

Pussycat - "Mississippi"
Tina Charles - "I Love To Love"
Boney M. - "Daddy Cool"
Sutherland Brothers & Quiver - "Arms Of Mary"
David Dundas - "Jeans On"

Mmm.  Love this thread.  Makes me smile!   Grin

LOL - Mississippi certainly wasn't trendy.  But then I've never been accused of being trendy ever in my life!

I wasn't much into music at that stage either, so the songs that made me feel nostalgic in that list were all stuff that would have been on the radio a lot.  I hadn't started going to discos by then, so my exposure to "Pop Culture" was limited to TOTP once a week - if I even bothered!

I still have a little pink "Letts Schoolgirls Diary" from 1976, and among the highlights for my 13/14 years were getting my ears pierced and getting my first bra!

Yes, music was definitely down the list of things that interested wee Bernie in 1976!
