He's announced his retirement today - shame as i thought we might get another year out of him but i don't think he was happy not playing week in week out and he's never been fit enough for that last year or so. What a great player though - gonna miss his passing in the middle of the park from now on  Sad

Definitely was a great player, but I think he made the right decision to retire now.

after his showing in the FA cup semi i think we all knew this was coming but if he was willing to hang about and be a bit part player i think he could do a job still. although when his legs got slower through age imagine how many yellow cards he would have racked up through 'tired tackles' next season  Grin

I don't think there are many fans who wouldn't have had him in there team (even Steve if he's honest) which is tribute in itself.
