Well as posted elsewhere, smokie and Mrs S, Elle and I went to PDC yesterday to meet Ali and Mr Ali for the first time. We were waiting outside the San Antonio hotel, thinking perhaps we should have picked somewhere with a smaller frontage because she could be 100 yards in either direction, when we saw her waving at us from down the street. Within minutes we were celebrating in a bar, where we were comfortably ensconced until certain of our party expressed an urgent need for fish and chips. Finding the Codfather was closed at lunchtime, we went to Friends, whilst the chip eaters popped next door (see separate report). We had a very sociable afternoon and a pleasant lunch and the hours whizzed by, until it became time to go and liberate the menageries at smokie's and Elle's. In the photo below, it is somewhat ironic that the only person holding something clearly labelled as beer is smokie!

Yes - it's always nice to pop into "Friends", and Sue was on form as always. Nice to have a natter to "Chef Steve" too... although sadly Biffa wasn't about. I did text him though to let him know we were there... and he responded to watch out for the grumpy waitress (that would be Sue then... his wife!)
I had the linguine with blue cheese sauce - very nice... and a good size too. However, I had my piggy head on yesterday and then tucked into a beautiful slice of homemade white chocolate cheesecake. Both were lovely!

I did offer, Keith but I think Ali felt sorry for me. It was just a quick photo anyway, not a beautifully choreographed and rehearsed flash mob event. |

Of course, if John had his head screwed on properly, he'd have left the camera with Ali, instead of in my car, so that we would have had to go back and have another load of fish and chips lovely afternoon in Puerto del Carmen.
Sometimes I worry about John, he's just not devious enough.

It was a lovely afternoon which Jimbo & I enjoyed very much. What a great bunch of guys you are.  Let´s hope it´s not to long before we can catch up again. Keith I hope you had a good time down in Devon. |

Had another catch up with Elle, Smokie & Mrs Smokie & John B on the 14th in PB, another very enjoyable time. Liked the look of PB so next year hoping to holiday there, so hope to catch up with you all again. |
