About 25 years ago, I stood at the end of this runway and watched 16 ofthese launch at 30 second intervals into a clear evening sky. That was a rush. The howl then roar is absolutely unbelievable.  Do try to  listen with a good sound system cranked up.  It's only limited by the camera mike, so it doesn't actually make your chest resonate as it does in real life.

Awesome plane.

I loved the way Concorde had the same effect, your whole body shaking.

It made Lefty cry when he was very small.
It also scared the **** out of me when it flew over and cast a shadow on us whilst I wasn't looking up.
