I watched the first part of Ricks Steins new series on Spain last night.

Fantastic San Sebastian that is definitely on my must visit list. Looking forward to part two.

Caracoles? Oh yes! I'm going to go snail picking up in the north of the island I think... and then sit down to a feast! It looked like they were eating them in the same way as we ate winkles on the Isle of Wight as kids. Lovely!

Really enjoyed that second episode... and will be buying some salted cod too.

You'd be better in my back garden ! this last couple of years If had an infestation of snails, must be the mild damp Irish weather. Can't bring myself to eat the buggers tho, tried snails once in an Italian restaurant in Upminster, was not impressed Huh

I've never tried them myself... not even l'escargo in a French restaurant. But i did used to love the winkles... so I'm up for it.

Yeah - Ireland may be green and beautiful... but all that has to come from rain! And rain brings mud and snails Grin

Yep - those are the beasties, Jim! Grin

Didn't know there was a book Steve - cheers for the tip!

Really enjoying the series. Nice to be able to watch a cookery program and know that I can actually source ALL of the ingredients... instead of having to make do, or substitute something else.

Anyone watching the Mexican one doing the rounds at the moment? Now there's a boring woman!

Enjoying !The Good Cook" too - he's really passionalte about his food, and I like to see that in a cookery programme.

i have watched the mexican one , and just doesnt appeal to me , i am not a big fan of hot/spicy food and the stuff she seems to be doing seems to be the basic bog standard mexican food , that no doubt you get in her chain of mexican restaurants

but i am enjoying RAMSEY shouting at the yanks again LOl in Kitchen nightmares and alos Ma n V food on the good food channel , just to see the amt of food the yanks eat
