Hi Everyone,

What is situation in PB with regards to restaurants offering gluten free meals? Also anyone know if you can purchase gluten and wheat free bread etc in supermarkets in PB.

Hiya Mick. There's a gluten free range in Hiperdino... but it's very limited. As for the individual items on offer... I'm not sure... although I think I might have seen bread there. But that would be in the same section of the supermarket, not in the bakery section. If memory serves me right, it's all to the right of the cairy chilled cabinets.

With the restaurants, it gets a little more tricky. Ask for "sin gluten" and avoid all sauces (and obviously all dishes that you would back at home such as pastry etc). To be honest, it depends on the person's level of gluten intolerance... as to whether to risk certain meals.

Is the health foods shop on the post office road still open. Maybe they have some suitable products?

Thanks Elle and Alan,
Will be over end of September - my better half was recently diagnosed with celiac disease so just checking the need to bring own supplies if not available over there.

Someone on the "other" forum is asking what gluten free products are in the supermarkets.  What did you find, Mick?
