It appears to have rattled CanaryNightlife and almost all topics seem to have shifted about, there's threads jumping left, right and centre.

Sorry - that was me moving threads into correct areas. I did post about it on one of them by way of an apology.

No Keith - still only rumours. The local papers have shown one bloke who may or may not have been putting a cardboard box into his car. The Mail has picked that up and declared that everyone's being evacuated.  Roll Eyes

Interesting reading

Heres a link to the latest quakes, the frequency in canary islands is evident although many have not been felt

Interesting read Stargirl.  If you sort them by date, the one this morning in Poland looks more worrying for Mail readers than the ones here.

I suggest anyone interested reads http://www.laprovincia.es  the Gran Canaria on-line local paper, or www.lavozdelanzarote.com the Lanzarote equivalent.

If you read the red tops or other web links telling of evacuations, yellow alerts and swarms, they are in general some days behind, and usually have an axe to grind.

The Canarian president is being advised by very experienced scientists using the instrumentation which is in place all over the islands (and explained in detail at the Timanfaya Visitor Centre). I feel he is unlikely to say again today, as he did, that there isn't an imminent problem, if his specialists are telling him different. That would be political suicide.
