Recommended.

Plenty of gore and gruesome kills, torture-porn fans will enjoy.
Dominic Purcell stars in the horror Escapee, another Retail this week. While on a class observation trip at a local mental hospital, young psychology major Abby Jones, has a chilling encounter with high-risk patient, Harmon. She returns home for an evening of normal study with her two roommates unaware of the darkness shes awakened within him. Later that evening a storm moves in, while Harmon escapes leaving a trail of death, as he makes his toward an unsuspecting Abby. The story is based on events that took place in one of the producers hometown of Alexandria, Louisiana. A suspensefull and heady thriller without cheap violence.
Paranormal Activity 3 is also a Retail this week. The third in the scary supernatural handy-cam horror series, but actually a prequel. In 1988, young sisters Katie and Kristi befriend an invisible entity who resides in their home. If you were scared by the first two, then this will actually make you sh*t yourself, the only way to make horror movies more frightening and creepy is to add small children... Recommended to fans of the genre and series.
Talking of creepy horror movies with small children, Dream House is another Retail this week. Soon after moving into their seemingly idyllic new home, a family learns of a brutal crime committed against former residents of the dwelling. Starring Rachel Weiss and Daniel Craig this is a creepy horror / thriller thats recommended for a dark cold evening on the couch.

Hired by the boy's mother, a wealthy doctor with high reaching influence, all seems to be an easy job. An adrenaline fix of action!

With his wife Elizabeth on life support after a boating accident, Hawaiian land baron Matt King takes his daughters on a trip from Oahu to Kauai to confront the young real estate broker, who was having an affair with Elizabeth before her misfortune. The hot-headed young D'Artagnan along with three former legendary but now down on their luck Musketeers must unite and defeat a beautiful double agent and her villainous employer from seizing the French throne and engulfing Europe in war. Cheers love!
Have got Albatross, The Descendants and Three Musketeers queued up. 7Lives appeals to me though!
Saw Dream House - it was good, but I wished I'd not seen the trailer first.
Paranormal Activity 3 - I hesitate to call myself a fan. I love them all... until the last 10 minutes, and am then always left disappointed.

First on the DVD this week we have a Retail of hilarious comedy A Very Harold And Kumar Christmas. Six years after their Guantanamo Bay adventure, stoner buds Harold Lee and Kumar Patel cause a holiday fracas by inadvertently burning down Harold's father-in-law's prize Christmas tree. Fantastically funny and everything any Harold And Kumar fan could expect. Highly Recommended to fans of the previous films, consumers of wild foliage and anyone else who just wants a good laugh.
Rhys Ifans and Vanessa Redgrave both star in the thrilling drama Anonymous, also a Retail this week. A political thriller advancing the theory that it was in fact Edward De Vere, Earl of Oxford who penned Shakespeare's plays; set against the backdrop of the succession of Queen Elizabeth I, and the Essex Rebellion against her. Inventive and compelling, a fascinating and hugely entertaining film. Highly Recommended.
Action drama 5 Days Of War starring Rupert Friend, Emmanuel Chriqui, Heather Graham, Andy Garcia and Val Kilmer, is also a Retail this week. Centered around the war between Russia and Georgia, and focused on an American journalist, his cameraman, and a Georgian native who become caught in the crossfire.
Jackie Chan directs and stars in the Chinese action drama 1911, another Retail this week. A historical drama based on the founding of the Republic of China when nationalist forces led by Sun Yat-sen overthrew the Qing Dynasty. Some propaganda tendencies but overall epic, detailed and entertaining. Jackie is at his acting best, directing best, and the most violent and dramatic film of his career. Recommended.
Feel good comedy drama The Big Year with Jack Black, Owen Wilson and Steve Martin is yet another Retail this week. Three avid bird watchers compete to spot the rarest birds in North America at a prestigious annual event. A funny and heart-warming movie, Recommended.
Thriller Beneath The Darkness is a DVD Rip this week, starring Dennis Quaid, Tony Oller and Aimee Teegarden. A group of teens who after watching their best friend get murdered, struggle to expose a local hero as the vicious killer and keep from becoming his next victims.
Animated comedy Happy Feet Two is a DVD Screener this week. Mumble's son, Erik, is struggling to realize his talents in the Emperor Penguin world. Meanwhile, Mumble and his family and friends discover a new threat their home -- one that will take everyone working together to save them. Adorable and enjoyable for both kids and grownups alike.
Mark Strong, John Hurt, Gary Oldman and Colin Firth star in the brilliant spy thriller, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, a Retail this week. In the bleak days of the Cold War, espionage veteran George Smiley is forced from semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6's echelons. A re-make and based on the fantastic novel which under normal circumstance isn't a great recipe for good film. But this is brilliant and in no small part due to the Oscar worthy performance of Gary Oldman. Very Highly Recommended.
Gritty and brutal crime thriller The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara is a DVD Screener this week. This English-language adaptation of the Swedish novel by Stieg Larsson follows a disgraced journalist, Mikael Blomkvist , as he investigates the disappearance of a wealthy patriarch's niece from 40 years ago. He is aided by the pierced, tattooed, punk computer hacker named Lisbeth Salander. As they work together in the investigation, Blomkvist and Salander uncover immense corruption beyond anything they have ever imagined. The best adaptation imaginable with an intoxicating, Oscar-worthy performance from Rooney Mara. A superb and chilling thriller. Highly Recommended.
Sci-fi action thriller In Time with Cillian Murphy, Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried is a Retail this week. In a future where people stop aging at 25, but are engineered to live only one more year, having the means to buy your way out of the situation is a shot at immortal youth. Here, Will Salas finds himself accused of murder and on the run with a hostage - a connection that becomes an important part of the way against the system. An enjoyable popcorn flick with subversive undertones.
Nicholas Cage and Guy Pearce star in the action thriller Justice, a DVD Rip this week. After his wife is assaulted, a husband enlists the services of a vigilante group to help him settle the score. A pleasantly surprising and entertaining thriller.
Horror The Watermen with Jason Mewes is another DVD Rip this week. A clan of watermen capture a crew of sport fishermen who must then fight for their lives. A solid cheesy slasher flick for horror fans.
Thrive, a Retail this week, is an unconventional documentary that lifts the veil on what's really going on in our world by following the money upstream - uncovering the global consolidation of power in nearly every aspect of our lives. Weaving together breakthroughs in science, consciousness and activism, THRIVE offers real solutions, empowering us with unprecedented and bold strategies for reclaiming our lives and our future. This is pretty interesting and relevant stuff although it doesn't go a bit "Conspiracy Theory" in places. However I still think its worth a watch for anyone thats interested in the subject matter. Recommended to conspiracy theory buffs.
Multi award nominated silent (Sort-Of), black and white romantic comedy The Artist, which is nominated for, and has already won, numerous awards, is a DVD Screener this week. Hollywood, 1927: As silent movie star George Valentin wonders if the arrival of talking pictures will cause him to fade into oblivion, he sparks with Peppy Miller, a young dancer set for a big break. An amazing film, not for everyone, but hugely enjoyable for those that know what they are getting into. This film has no audio dialogue but does have music and sound effects, just like old silent movies. The film is also black and white as an homage to the old silent movies of yester-year. Highly Recommended.

First up on DVD this week we have a DVD Screener of the excellent political drama The Iron Lady with Meryl Streep and Jim Broadbent. A look at the life of Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, with a focus on the price she paid for power. A spectacular, Oscar worthy, performance by Merly Streep in the humanization Of Margaret Thatcher. Highly Recommended for anyone who either loves the subject matter or can appreciate an amazing performance.
Horror The Theatre Bizarre is another DVD Screener this week. Down a seedy city street in her neighborhood, young Enola Penny is obsessed with what appears to be a long abandoned theatre. One night, she sees that the front door is slightly ajar and impulsively decides to sneak inside. But there in the dark, decrepit auditorium, a show unlike any other unfolds before her eyes. Its host is an eerie human puppet named Peg Poett who will introduce Penny to six tales of the bizarre: A couple traveling in a remote part of the French Pyrenees cross paths with a lustful witch; A paranoid lover faces the wrath of a partner who has been pushed to her limit; The Freudian dreams of an unfaithful husband blur the lines between fantasy and reality; The horrors of the real world are interpreted through the mind of a child; A woman addicted to other people's memories gets her fix through the vitreous fluid of her victims' eyeballs; And a perverse obsession with sweets turns sour for a couple in too deep...Not since the original Creepshow has there been a horror anthology as amazing as this. Comprising of six different short films, each with a different director and introductory segment, every short film is entirely different and unique in their own way and even the segments in between with Udo Kier and extremely entertaining to watch. Recommended to horror fans and fans of The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits and Creepshow.
Glenn Close and Mia Wasikowska star in the drama Albert Nobbs, another DVD Screener this week. Albert Nobbs struggles to survive in late 19th century Ireland, where women aren't encouraged to be independent. Posing as a man, so she can work as a butler in Dublin's most posh hotel, Albert meets a handsome painter and looks to escape the lie she has been living. A haunting, bittersweet gender swap period piece that proves illuminating with a phenomenal performances by Glenn Close. Recommended.
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, a drama with Tom Hanks, Thomas Horn and Sandra Bullock, is also a DVD Screener this week. A nine-year-old amateur inventor, Francophile, and pacifist searches New York City for the lock that matches a mysterious key left behind by his father, who died in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. A haunting and lovely tale of a boys journey to keep his father alive in his memory. Deeply sentimental and utterly inspiring. Highly Recommended, just get some tissues ready.
Biographical crime drama J.Edgar, directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is a Retail this week. As the face of law enforcement in America for almost 50 years, J. Edgar Hoover was feared and admired, reviled and revered. But behind closed doors, he held secrets that would have destroyed his image, his career and his life. A well crafted biopic, another impeccable work by Clint Eastwood. Recommended.
Animated comedy adventure Puss In Boots is also a Retail this week. Years before meeting Shrek and Donkey, the adorable but tricky Puss in Boots must clear his name from all charges making him a wanted fugitive. While trying to steal magic beans from the infamous criminals Jack and Jill, the hero crosses paths with his female match, Kitty Softpaws, who leads Puss to his old friend, but now enemy, Humpty Dumpty. Memories of friendship and betrayal enlarges Puss' doubt, but he eventually agrees to help the egg get the magic beans. Together, the three plan to steal the beans, get to the Giant's castle, nab the golden goose, and clear Puss' name. Brilliantly funny and entertaining. Highly Recommended.
Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller star alongside a long list Hollywood stars in comedy crime caper Tower Heist, another Retail this week. When a group of hard working guys find out they've fallen victim to a wealthy business man's Ponzi scheme, they conspire to rob his high-rise residence. A cheesy throwaway popcorn comedy that entertaining and enjoyable. Recommended.
Action adventure The Three Musketeers is also a Retail this week. The hot-headed young D'Artagnan along with three former legendary but now down on their luck Musketeers must unite and defeat a beautiful double agent and her villainous employer from seizing the French throne and engulfing Europe in war. Highly Recommended swashbuckling adventure starring Matthew Macfadyen, Milla Jovovich, Helen George, Til Schweiger, Orlando Bloom and Dexter Fletcher .
Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough, Dennis Quaid and Andie MacDowell star in the remake of classic 80's dance movie Footloose, another Retail this week. City kid Ren MacCormack moves to a small town where rock 'n' roll and dancing have been banned, and his rebellious spirit shakes up the populace. Hewing a little too slavishly close to the original, this remake is nonetheless a surprisingly character-driven drama that possesses the exuberant spirit of the 1984 classic. If you never seen the original when it was out at the time, you might enjoy this modern version more than someone who has.
Ellen Barkin, Demi Moore, Thomas Haden Church and Kate Bosworth star in drama Another Happy Day, also a Retail. A wedding at her parents' Annapolis estate hurls high-strung Lynn into the center of touchy family dynamics. An ensemble of outstanding performances. Even Demi Moore has some incredible moments: her wedding toast is a phenomenal bit of awkward comedy.
Silly comedy drama Holy Flying Circus, a DVD Rip, is set in 1979 when the Monty Python comedy team return from making their film 'Monty Python's Life of Brian' in Tunisia. The Popular Peoples' Church of St Sophia (whose members include a Tourettes sufferer who shouts out swear words) find a copy of the script in a dustbin and lobby the British censor for its suppression, leading to many local councils banning its screening. Death threats follow and Michael Palin - "the nicest man in Britain" - has his effigy burned on his front lawn. Finally crazed TV programmer Alan Dick persuades Palin and co-star John Cleese to defend the picture on a late night chat show against the Bishop of Southwark and religious commentator Malcolm Muggeridge. A bit strange but any Python fan will love it, I did. Recommended to Monty Python fans, not much for anyone else.
Sean Patrick Flanery, Adam Baldwin, Christopher Lloyd and Natalie Zea star in the thriller Insight, a DVD Rip this week. Kaitlyn, an ER nurse who is tending to a young stabbing victim, is accidentally electrocuted by the defibrillator that is used in an effort to save the woman's life. She decides that she must take it upon herself to try to solve the crime - or risk the terrifying visions ending in her own sanity being at stake. Ultimately Kaitlyn teams up with the detective on the case and weaves her way through the victim's past - to discover not only the brutal truth, but also some very unexpected lessons about life, love, sorrow and forgiveness along the way.

Rhys Ifans, Anna Friel, Charles Dance, Bob Hoskins and Keira Knightley star in the feature film version (2Hrs50mins) of the tv mini series adventure fantasy Neverland, an R5 Retail this week. Raised on the streets of turn-of-the century London, orphaned Peter and his pals survive by their fearless wits as cunning young pickpockets. Now, they've been rounded up by their mentor Jimmy Hook to snatch a priceless, some believe, magical treasure which transports them to another world. Neverland is a realm of white jungles and legendary mysteries of eternal youth, where unknown friends and enemies snatched from time welcome the new travelers with both excitement and trepidation. These groups include a band of 18th century pirates led by the power-mad Elizabeth Bonny, and the Native American Kaw tribe led by a Holy Man, which has protected the secret of the tree spirits from Bonny and her gang for ages, and that has meant war. But as the fight to save this strange and beautiful world becomes vital, Hook, Peter, and the ragamuffin lost boys consider that growing old somewhere in time could be less important than growing up, right here in their new home called Neverland. An excellently produced subtle and dark prequel to the Peter Pan tale made by SyFy. Recommended to fans of SyFy stuff, one their best efforts by far.
British horror thriller Stormhouse is a DVD Rip this week. In 2002, 11 months before the invasion of Iraq, the military captured and imprisoned a supernatural entity at Stormhouse, a secret underground base. This film documents the final four days of that experiment. 'Ghost whisperer' Hayley Sands is brought to Stormhouse by the government to make contact with the captured entity. Her arrival triggers a series of events which lead to the entity's escape, plunging the base into a horrific nightmare. An original and genuinely scary film, recommended to horror fans.
Zombie horror The Dead is another DVD Rip this week. When the last evacuation flight out of war-torn Africa crashes off the coast, American Air Force Engineer Lieutenant Brian Murphy emerges as the sole survivor in a land where the dead are returning to life and attacking the living. On the run in a hostile and inhospitable parched landscape, where sudden death lurks around every sun-burnished corner, Murphy has to use his wits and ingenuity if he is to get home alive to his family. If you like Romero's zombie movies, you might wanna give this a try too.
Korean action flick War Of The Arrows is a Blu Ray Rip this week. Set during the second Manchu invasion of Korea, Nam-Yi, the best archer in Korea, goes up against the Qing Dynasty to save his younger sister Ja-In - who was dragged away by Mongolian invaders. This is an excellent movie. Beautifully shot, acted, directed and scored. Multiaward winning and well-deserved. Recommended.
Dramatic thriller We Need To Talk About Kevin is a Retail this week. Starring Tilda Swinton and John C Reilly the plot centers around the mother of a teenage boy who went on a high-school killing spree who tries to deal with her grief - and feelings of responsibility for her child's actions. Highly Recommended.
Kate Beckinsale returns in the action hit sequel Underworld Awakening, an R5 Retail this week. When human forces discover the existence of the Vampire and Lycan clans, a war to eradicate both species commences. The vampire warrioress Selene leads the battle against humankind.
