Hello All,

Sorry for the slight delay in getting this TR out, I came back to lots of work and am already In need of another holiday !!

Stayed at tHe Rocas Blancas again, no complaints at all, yes we heard a bit of noise sometimes, but it did not bother us in the slightest, the view from the aprtments and the proximity to everything means it will always be the place for us to stay.

Excersise,

We walked plenty during the day and it’s surprising, how thirsty that can make you, luckily we had plenty of watering holes to keep us refreshed, but for real walking, you could try walking to Matagorda and back, (found 2 really nice bars we hadn’t been in before, Aussies Beach Bar and Pythons, good drinks in both and we had snacks in Pythons which were great)

Fom here you can walk and walk, as we found last time when we walked to the Gran Hotel in Arrecife…! Most people seem happy enough to turn round and head back once at Matagorda CC

Another slightly further walk in the other direction is Puerto Calero, a really pleasant stroll (make sure you do not take it on at Midday ! as there is nowhere to hide) but it really is a great walk and you could always grab a cab if you are too tired to walk back !!

Not Strictly classed as excersise, but we took the bus to Costa Teguise one night to see the Jaeger Brothers, really enjoyed it, we had a good walk round CT and the bus journey was effortless

Food

Once again our old favourites did not disappoint !, Emmas Cantina was fantastic as always ! Mike and his team, were really busy but still found the time to chat and catch up,

Friends Sunday lunch is fast becoming a staple for us, enjoyed every mouthful along with the other snacks we had there in the week.

Yum Yums is ideal for a lighter bite when taking it back to the balcony

La Dolce Vita’s fantastic Pasta and it’s nice to get an outside table

Pinocchios, to me this is the best pizza in PDC, enough said

Purple Turtle….Good menu with plenty of choice, good value and service

Drinks

Spenders. Excellent measures, good value and service

Friends, great prices and service

Pythons, Just off the beach in the band stand at Los Pocillios/Matagorda, good prices and a good spot to chill and look over the ocean

Aussies Beach Bar…Nice newly refurbished beach bar at Matagorda, great spot for a cold beer or two, menu looked tempting

Chadwicks ….You have to try the chocolate shots ! you will be hooked

Quizzes

Spenders, started to do a Quiz a couple of times a week, good fun and some tough questions,

The Tavern, another that has started to do quizzes, certainly worth a visit one night (it’s on 2 or 3 times a week, I think !)

Owl and Pussycat, we normally do the quiz here a couple of times a holiday, it’s on everynight and although there’s some tough questions it’s great fun

Well. I hope the review has either been a good read or of some use to those looking for ideas !

Happy Holidays

Great to hear you enjoyed your holiday Danny.

I too enjoy great walks along Matagorda, Aussies Beach Bar must be new, where in Matagorda is it situated? Good to see new places opening. Smiley

Do you remember DJs beach bar stargirl, as you walk from PDC it was just after Jameos and before you reached Sol Lanzarote, set back on the left hand side, looking out towards the sea ..... its the same place, and having walked past there for ten years, I can honestly say its now soooo much more inviting, I actually went in recently!

Couldn't agree more Gilly, I called into DJ's once and wouldn't have bothered going back, but will be going back to Aussies !
Menu looked good as well

Happy Holidays

Aah yes gotcha now, it was on the end of a row of bungalows, must note to stop for a 7up next time.

I never thought DJ's looked inviting, mind you if you were out walking and dying for something to quench your thirst it is in an ideal spot!

yup, thats the one!  Saying about an ideal spot, previously depending on which direction I was heading I would hold out for another 5 minutes and either go to one of the bars around Jameos or Matagorda CC, but now I wouldnt hesitate to pop in there again.  And its such a perfect spot for people watching - but on the downside you also see your fair share of budgie smugglers too  Wink

I think that, instead of unseemly things, you should look at the miracles of nature, such as a camel's foot.
