I still have the old layout and have no problems with it.

The problem is not with your Antivirus, but with Internet Explorer
You are using SmartScreen function in your IE.
We have contacted Microsoft a few days ago, but we did not get any
respond yet.
We will keep you posted on our forum.

Karen,  I'm using Firefox and AVG antivirus, and the problem that flagged up yesterday is gone, as it is in IE7 without smartscreen, so he's probably correct,  Microsoft should remove the old warning.

Jim,

The Gazette is the free magazine distributed in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. They also have a website http://www.gazettelanzarote.com which has frequent virus problems, and includes a residents' forum which is often rather contentious Wink

You can expect a slightly different experience on the forum over there!  Think being on the terraces at a linfield / cliftonville football match

Yes some people's stated idea of "banter" is what would probably get them either flattened or sued in real life!

LOL not a footy fan, I prefer the more civilized game played by men with odd shaped balls, but I know what you mean, i experienced it at a ska concert in the ulster hall in the  80's, not pretty.
How's life on the ocean waves Clanky ? That Italian cruise ship fiasco can't have done the cruise industry many favours.
I know its not in the best of taste, but the captains excuse cracked me up, slipped and fell into a lifeboat ! Priceless.

Yes some people's stated idea of "banter" is what would probably get them either flattened or sued in real life!

There are 2 main problems with internet communication, one it is relatively anonymous so people believe that they cannot be traced and will not receive either physical harm or legal censure for on-line comments, both have been proven to be untrue and two something which is said in fun can seem very insulting without a wry smile or little chuckle to let someone know that you are joking.

The combination of both of these leads to people taking offence over something which wasn't intended to be offensive and then being obnoxious in return because they think that they can, believe me the Gazette forum is relatively tame compared to some, mostly because those who attempt to be trolls on there are fairly amateurish, I have been tempted in the past to do some proper trolling on there, but have always held back.

I post fairly regularly on a forum for merchant navy officer cadets, there is one young man on there who has expressed some very stong opinions about the officers he has sailed with in the past, safe in the knowledge that no-one will ever figure out who he is and that his comments will remain anonymous, even though he chose not to allow those who he was publically criticising any such anonymity, his latest post was that he was flying to Sharm el Sheikh tomorrow to join a ship and about how he was going to pretend to be sick when he arrived to get a day off to settle in and find himself a girl friend from the show team, his comments have been printed and posted opn notice boards in the hospital, the theatre changing room and the bridge!

Welcome onboard!

Oddly, the aviation forum Pprune.org is pretty civilised too, trolls get pretty short on-line lives.  Now the fairy tale wrters forum is another matter.

Yer man on the Gazette is still a despicable idiot though, you can't take that away from him!
