Last night on BBC 4 was a docudrama/comedy about the reaction to the release of The Life of Brian in 1979. It was brilliantly acted and superbly written, following the general feel of a Monty Python show to tell what was a serious story. It culminated in a debate between Cleese, Palin, Malcolm Muggeridge and the Bishop of Southwark. The first two were trying to point out that the film was not about Jesus, but about the herd mentality of many who follow organised religion. They behaved in a restrained and thoughtful way, while the bishop and Muggeridge were absolutely dreadful, playing to the audience and relying mainly on cheap shots. The drama was followed by a replaying of the original debate, which showed the"Establishment" figures to be horribly smug, condescending and closed minded. Very thought provoking. It'll probably be repeated on BBC 2.

Sounds very interesting! I would love to have seen that. Must keep an eye out and if it's being repeated do give us all the heads up John! Cheers!

No, it was an ambush question, I meant the "original" from over in the Middle East a long, long time ago but no one fell for it. Too clever by half, everyone on here.

No the "My computer thinks it's in UK, so my TV does too" fairy played it to us live, Elle. Filmon on the iPad would too. I don't know if Filmon for PC has been sorted yet.

Ha ha ha! Cheers - will go look there now.
Have been having nightmares with external harddrives recently... so Alan's off out now possibly buying a telly that you can just plug a normal hard drive into. Hopefully that will work after his hiking back and forth to Arrecife to sort another thing out. Grrr!
