Can't see how Rossi will ever get on a bike again, they were very close.

So very sad. Saw the footage... and can't imagine how his pal must be feeling right now!

Very very sad indeed.

It would appear from the video I have seen that before he slid into the collision with the other bikes he could have already been concussed or even unconscious.  Seems when he lost the bike initially he went down and whacked his helmet off the road, and then the bike took on a trajectory of its own.

Anyhow, God love his family and friends if they have to see that footage of his final moments.  The only consolation (and it is a very small one for a young life lost) is that he never knew any pain.

I thought that.  And I have to say from experience that although you know on a Friday of a racing weekend that life might 'different' come Monday there is never any real sense of imminent danger as such, you're just getting on with the job all weekend, including the on track part.

So I assume he never knew a thing and that's good.

If those guys stopped to think about the outcomes, it would be the end of motorbike racing as we know it.  It has to have that crazy edge to provide the thrills & spills!  They must live for the adrenaline rush, and God knows they have balls of steel. What's amazing is how few of them end up like minced meat!

We were reflecting last night on how dangerous a sport motorcycle racing can be, but then I reminded Damian that some years ago when I was working at the hospital, a guy out playing an innocent game of golf got struck by lightening and was brought in dead, so everything carries a risk!  ..... sure even playing the Daily Quiz on Canary Nightlife could make you bust a gut with stress when you get the simple ones wrong!!  Roll Eyes
