Well we've arrived at last and I think I can answer my own question after just 1 day of being in PB. And it's a definite 'NO' - no clanger dropped!!
Had a wander down to the port and turned left and walked up to the Marina ( obviously stopping at a few bars along the way). Had a great afternoon in the beautiful sunshine and we're really looking forward to the next couple of weeks now :-)
Ive got a couple of questions tho if any if you kind, knowledgeable folk can help Huh
1) we fancy the Rancho Texas night but will need transport so we can have 1 or 2 drinks - where can I organise it? and
2) one of our party is rather fussy about which cigarettes he smokes - Embassy No.1 - but in the few shops we've been in we can't find them. Anybody know where we might find that particular brand?
Many thanks for your help in advance.

Cant you tell the smoker that any brand of fag is going to contain the nicotine they need and each will bring on cancer just as fast and stop being fussy?

I smoke cutters choice, for the simple reason the slave cutting the leaf is chosing it for me for a healthier smoke/lifestyle ;-)

Hi davenshell - and welcome to Playa Blanca! Glad you're enjoying it so far - and today's weather is gorgeous isn't it?

Re: Rancho Texas - if you can't book online for any reason... head to the Last Minute Travel shop in the Marina. It's located behind Cafe del Mar. Not sure of markup on prices though I'm afraid.

Whilst in the Marina area... head away from the Marina, as if driving, and when you have the Rubimar Shopping Centre on your right, then on the opposite side of the road is Fund Gruße. That's known to be the best value for branded ciggies. Might be worth trying there. Alternatively, try the Indian tobacco shops.I've not seent hem anywhere... but that's because I haven't looked. Sorry!

LMAO MrZandos! Cheesy

LOL - not at all... although I am just approaching the 5 month mark.

I do still miss my ciggies sometimes though! Nearly had one last night. Got as far as striding over and snatching up the packet - but then I threw it across the room. I was a bit stressed at the time. Glad I didn't succumb.

Thanks for the replies folks. Luckily he's found his fags now so he's a happy bunny and we've decided to drive up to Rancho Texas on Sunday during the day for the zoo and book the night tickets for later in the week while we're there. And Elle yes the weather has been absolutely fab, and we've had a great day in the pool all day with a BBQ and a few beers - happy days!! Cool
