I have always holidayed in Gran Canaria and liked it very much but last January my wife Claire and I decided to come to Lanzarote for a change. We were out cycling and just by chance we happened upon Matagorda Bay complex and were totally smitten by it. We had no intention of buying anything abroad but came back home and decided we would like to have an apartment on the MB complex. We completed in June last year and have never looked back. We both work while we are here because our apartment has internet connection but we are still living in the UK at the present time. We come over about eight times a year and I can't wait until we live here permanently. We have a daughter at university in York so moving over is not an option at the present time.

It's a smaller world than you think, I lived in York for around 11 years as well, until I moved to lanzarote.

Lucy - that's great news! Let us know if we can help.

There is no one website for jobs her - it's only a small island... so not like having a website for a city. however, there's a group on Facebook that is worth you joining. I'll see if I can invite you as a member later today. Drop me a PM later if I haven't done it. There is also a page on our Relocation website where people can leave their contact details... plus there's a chap on there recruiting as we speak. http://www.lanzaroterelocation.co.uk/lanzarote-jobs/
