english speaking doctor in playa blanca

hi,

can anybody recommend an english speaking doctor in playa blanca?  i have been to the main medical centre twice and both doctors spoke no english and i really need some advice.

I can recommend a clinic where they speak English but there would be quite high charges. Is it not possible to take someone with you hat could translate ?

I think you've been unlucky, every doctor Mrs B and I have seen there over the last two years spoke enough English for us to get by.  They do come and go though, so perhaps there are none at the moment - which is pretty odd for a Health Centre which is only there because it's in a town whose main industry is English speaking visitors! There are two receptionists, usually on in the latter part of the afternoon, a little younger lady, and a middle aged man with greying hair. Ask them if they could make you an appointment with an English speaker.  If in doubt ask ¿Tiene usted un médico que habla Inglés?

Another option, depending on what the problem is, is to ask in the Farmacia opposite the taxi rank.  They speak good English.

i have seen a private doctor nowbut it did cost quite a lot, he has sent me back to the medical centre with a spanish note for tests.  will see how i get on and if they will do them.

NIkki - I am in exactly the same situation as you, with some tests needed after a visit with a private doctor. Nowt serious thankfully... so I hope the same goes for you!

My medical Spanish is non existent... so am heading up there with a dictionary and hoping for the best. Good luck love!

A lot of Spnissh medical terms are similar to English ones since in both cases they are both Latin based
