We were joined on our walk today by Bernie Bobcat, Mr Bobcat, and friends, so here are a few pics to commemorate the event.

Caldera de la Rilla is a breathtaking crater on the edge of Timanfaya, and the bar is the Conil Sociadad, just before the thin crust pizzas arrived

Conil Sociedad is brilliant!  We were there with the group in May.  Look at your fabulous weather!  Great pics John.

Seeing Gil on the mountain how is her husband Richard John?  He had an accident when we were on the Guatiza walk.  I also spotted Raquel at the sociedad and a local at the back in a Canarian hat.  Must have wondered where you all came from!

Back on his feet, Josie.  Yes Raquel was there to chide me at my lack of Spanish!

Just home from my 9 night stay in PB and I have to say that our walk around Caldera de la Rilla was one of the highlights of the holiday for all of us.

It's always great to do something totally different when we go to Lanzarote for our regular holidays and this walk certainly managed to set this break aside from all that went before. Walking along the beautiful National Park of Timanfaya is a fantastic experience, and the group walk was a very sociable way to do this too.

Also glad to have had the opportunity to eat at the Sociedad in Conil, and to have met so many nice people out enjoying a perfect Sunday!

Have to say thanks to John for convincing us that it was worth getting out of bed early to take part!  I've been too lazy for too long, and now I am determined to get involved in more of these lovely walks when I go back to visit in the future.

Here's to 2012!

I love the group walks Bernie - glad you did too.  I'm going to surprise John one day by walking at the front instead of always being a straggler!

Yes Josie.  The walks are really sociable, and fair dues to John B for reminding us about the one on Sunday.

We were very well behaved on Saturday night, and went home early so we could be in bed by midnight, to make sure there weren't any heavy heads the next day!

Some day we'll all get to be in Lanzarote together and we'll have a big Canary Nightlifers Expedition!  Grin
