Belen in Tinajo

After the agricultural museum today, we visited the Belen in Tinajo, which ,I think is the biggest on the Island. The figure of the man doing a poo is supposed to bring fertility to the land.  I suppose it might, but you'd have thought it would be a very localised effect, unless he was particularly fleet of foot.

Considering that there is still a significant proportion of the World's rice crop fertilised by nightsoil they may have a point.
