My wife and I have'nt been to Playa Blanca for 3 years...We spent many a happy few hours in The Mill and The Anvil.... we're going back on march 15th 2012....Somebody please tell me The Mill & The Anvil are just as good as they were then with plenty of good entertainmen...Good food...And a great choice of beers.
Cheers

It was a lovely brekkie, as always at the Irish Anvil this morning, Bazza.

I guess this thread will get moved across to the correct page when Elle gets a minute so if it disappears Bazza, you'll find a page specifically for the Irish Anvil in the Playa Blanca section.

My wife is now disabled and uses a wheelchair which makes it awkward if we tried to go to The Red Lion which is a pub we used to use....I don't suppose there's a lift been installed yet is there?

Sorry Bazza, I don't even know where the Red Lion is, I'm sure someone will be along that can help though.

Hi Smokie...Going out of the town centre it's halfway up the hill towards The Lanzarote Princess...And it's upstairs above an Irish bar...Took me 3 days to find it...Nice place with an English couple who I believe are still running it...Trouble is it's all stairs and my wife can't do that now....At least The Anvil is all on one level with a taxi rank virtually next door so it won't be a problem getting to and from Sun Park

Yeah Anvil and Mill are still going strong. I'm an Anvil fan... but haven't been for a little while.

Red Lion? Long gone I'm afraid. The only Red Lion we've had in recent years was up the stairs from the Anvil, in the corner between Legends and what used to be The Inn Plaice. It's a nighttime venue now, but I forget the name. We had a late night / early morning in there a few months back.

Or... you may be thinking of the Nag's Head above Gravity Bar (used to be Paddy Macs). Good brekkies in there. Had Fiddlers Bar next door ( we miss Xmas Day evenings in there) that is sadly now closed and is Atlantico (a Portuguese restaurant)

No worries love. I've just remembered that it wasn't called the Red Lion next door to the Inn Plaice anyway - it was Coach & Horses Grin

I'm obviously getting old too! Cheesy

Anywayt - Nag's Head is still open hon xxx

Not an email address I'm afraid. I've got an old business card from there that has a mobile number. 0034 639 268 272. I don't know if it still works though, sorry. The owner's name is Ian. xx
