Due to stay in a private villa in Los Poc, never stayed this far down before so am looking for some recommendations for restaurants, snack bars and bars please ? We're a group of 8, I take it we'll be fine just to turn up at any restaurants ?

Thanks

Yeah - just rock up... they'll be pleased to see such a nice sized group. Matagorda is very close to Los Pocillos as Steve has said... and with loads of choice too xxx

Thanks, we're right on the cusp of Los Poc and the end of the "strip" not far from Calle Italia, any recommendations gratefully received  Wink

We're thinking of pre-ordering a takeaway on our arrival night, I've used the services of Restaurant China (opp the San Antonio) previously but it was a couple of years ago, are they still a good option or should we consider elsewhere ?

Hi,
As your so near to Matagorda, I would certainly reccomend the Timbayba in the centro. As a recent visitor to this area I got the tip off this site and it's pretty damn good.
Also if your feeling adventurous the Sapporo japanes sushi place is great. Finally in the Centro also there is a large Chinese place which does one of the best Lemon chicken I have had in years.
Back to the Sapporo, they don't only do Sushi but Teppanyaki which is noodly type stuff - all cooked on a hotplate in front of you. Never tried Sushi until we went here and now we are devotees !!
There is a Mexican in the Centro but to be honest it's worth the fare into PDC to Emmas Cantina, truly stunning.
Enjoy.

Restaurant China would be a good choice as I eat there often as I have a small but cosy bar next door Raffles you are more than welcome to pop in for a drink whilst you wait for your order.

That Chinese has been there since i first stayed in Lanza in 1991 , we used to pop in for a takeaway once each holiday when we stayed at Las Adellfas, there was a brilliant place opposite in the centre El Caracol but its no longer there ,, las adelfas have what i have been told a very good bar/restaraunt now they did when i stayed there but it was a while ago , not been in myself just had a quick glance at the place a few years back (soon i will be back ) i am sure you can use there and its just round the corner on Calle Francia ,

Gary , is Raffles the bar that is to the right of the centre as you come in up the steps the chinese on your left the estate agent on the right and its sort of one oclock to you if you stood there Huh?

if it is i have been in a few times like most places in that centre

Thanks everyone........lots to add to my list.  Wink It'll make a pleasant change to be at this end of PDC for a change, I'm looking forward to it. I like discovering new places for breakfast & lunch and a little light refreshment  Grin

Steve, the Chinese has been there since 1976 ! They must be doing something right eh ?

Gary Will definitely call into Raffles, you wont miss us, just look for 8 beauty queens LOL. We were actually going to pre-order and have the Chinese delivered unless of course you kind people tell me that it's a reasonable walk from the Riu Olivina Coral area to the Chinese @ Centro comercial Costa Luz ?? In it is then we'll stroll down and have a beer in Raffles whilst we wait  Cheesy

Update.........I just Google mapped it and I think we can manage a 7 minute walk Smiley

Steve - Raffles is on the first floor dead ahead as you go up the stairs.
