Hi everyone and a Happy New Year

I live in England ( we`ve had no snow yet wonderfull) my daughter and son in law are hoping to live in Lazarote in August 2012.
They would ideally like to rent for six to twelve months before selling up in England. They will be bringing 2 dogs with them. We have looked at estate agents( imobiliers sorry about spelling my French is better than my Spanish) Does anyone know of someone who would rent them a house I am sure she would be prepared to pay a larger than normal deposit.

Hi Les - and welcome. I've just posted in reply to your question on the other thread actually... about water.

There are lots of agents who can rent your daughter and her fella a house. Depending upon which area you're looking at... different agents are better placed than others. You also don't need to pay a finders' fee anymore - the Spanish stopped that a long time ago.

Shouldn't be an issue to find something. There's always people looking to do a long term rent. Usually they require 2 months rent upfront - that covers a deposit and your first months rent.

I would advise them to come out and take a holiday let for a month, it's a bit more pricey, but it will give them time to look a rounjd and find somewhere that they really like rather than taking a 6 / 12 month contract on the internet and arriving to find a house that you don't really like.

Speaking of the internet, if that's important to them, they need to ask about that too, it can be quite variable around the island, and even in nearby places.
