We have a 1m dish at the moment with a full Sky HD package but don't seem to get a lot of the channels.  We know we can't get BBC & ITV but would we be better off changing the dish to a larger one and if so what sort of size should we be looking at - a 3m dish would not be an option for us.

Also, if we need to change our dish, any recommendations for an installer.

(him who must be obeyed keeps moaning about what we can't get - so any thoughts would be appreciated)  xx

Digital Dave (advertises in the Gazette) is trustworthy and reliable.

I'm sure plenty of people don't bother, but do be aware you need planning permission for a big dish.  Also, I'm not an expert, but I think a lot of channels are disappearing even for a big dish, I suggest you check with someon who knows.

Lolly,
What channels are you after? Some can only be got on a 2.4m or 3.1m now.

If you have a decent internet connection I would look at getting an internet TV set-up.

More and more of the sattelite signals seem to be disappearing.

I was going to agree with that, Clanky, since that's what we do, but I wonder if Mr Lolly wanted some of the Sky Sports etc channels that aren't easily available on the internet?

Thanks for all your info. We get the sports channels, films etc but are missing some of the documentary ones i.e the History channels and can't get the +1 ones (that doesn't sound grammatically correct).  Have an AV adaptor for our iPad on order so hopefully that should help with BBC & ITV.  Will also have a chat to Digital Dave.  It's not that we watch anything in particular but you always tend to want what you can't have!

I'm sure dave will advise you but probably 3.1m dish is the only way to guarantee those channels. Have you thought about using a uk ip (internet address) and connecting to these channels online via sky's website?
