So, should he have had his honour taken away?

Despite being a proper Trot - as defined by Gove today, i.e. I don't agree with his school management model, not my definition of a trot, but I digress, I don't see why we should have stripped him of something he earned. 

He took on a bank, built it into one of the biggest in the world, was universally praised and regularly monitored by the regulatory bodies, who saw nothing wrong with the way he ran it.  The global economy went t*ts up and they got caught out.  Nothing malicious but some bad decisions.  FSA investigated, found no grounds for prosecution.  Now several years later he's the first to be stripped of a knighthood without ever being convicted of wrongdoing.  A very British punishment, wouldn't have happened if he'd been donating heavily to the party in power!

I was pleased when I heard too but I agree there may be an element of double standards.
