Step inside Café Avenida and you could be in San Francisco, London or Barcelona. It’s a small, intimate, modern, stylish and exceptionally comfortable restaurant, owned and run by the team behind Mundo.

The food is nothing short of sensationally good, without being pretentious and more than matching the quality of any European capital. If the menu is your kind of food, you’re unlikely to enjoy a better meal anywhere in Gran Canaria.

There are some excellent budget and vegetarian choices, and even the top end of the menu is exceptionally good value. There’s a strong emphasis on the best local produce, and the wines are outstanding.

From morning on, it’s a smart Café, serving breakfasts from 9.00, snacks and cakes through the day, and the main menu kicks in from noon until 11.00 pm. It’s open every day except Sunday.

If you want to eat there in the evenings, it’s best to book. It’s as popular with smart Las Palmas diners as it is with tourists.
