Meson Restaurante
Pleamar in Playa Honda, is an excellent slice of Northern Spain,
due to its owner – Manuel. Manuel has owned this restaurant
since 1991 when he moved here from San Sebastian. This
delightful restaurant is a massive hit with the locals, and also
has its own darts team called “Dardos”, who play in the
Lanzarote league.
Open every day from 8:30am until late – Meson Restaurante
Pleamar has not only your favourite drinks, local beers, and
cocktails – but also a very extensive menu. Their specialty of
the day is the fantastically valued 4 course meal for just €7!!
This comes with a choice of starters including gazpacho,
galbanzos, Canarian potatoes and more. The main courses include
a choice of no less than 5 meats or a choice of 5 fish – all
coming in fresh daily. The 3rd course contains the local postres,
and is followed up by a fourth course of coffee with milk, or a
choice of selected drinks. Yes – all of that for just 7 Euros!
This excellent value menu is available every day. However the
main menu is not available at weekends or on fiestas.
One thing you really must try when visiting the ever popular
Lanzarote restaurant is their special cider. This is brought in
from San Sebastian, and poured at your table into your personal
keg. Manuel has a wide variety of tools and gadgets to keep the
pouring of this cider fun. It’s always good to see something a
little different – and this is a taste of Northern Spain history
at your dinner table.
If cocktails are more your thing – then you must try Manuel’s
Mojitos – guaranteed to keep you coming back for more!
To find Meson Restaurante Pleamar – head down Princesa Ico
towards the beach. Pass the taxi rank at the Deiland and turn
left into Calle San Borondon. Pleamar is halfway down on the
right hand side.
