New Lanis suites in PDC
« on: April 22, 2015, 09:25:20 AM »
I see there's a funky new Lanis hotel in PDC. Does anyone know where this is ? When I was over in december there was a lot of work going on in an old apartment complex across the road from Masala Indian/Italian restaurant on the Avenida, is this where it is ? Anyone tried it yet ?

Called in for lunch today and got a look around a couple of the suites, absolutely stunning.  As you said Jom, these are the old Las Rocas apartments opposite Masala.

There are 5 two bedroom suites and 20 one bedroom suites, all with separate living room and bath room.  The suites on the 1st and second levels all have private jacuzzis and those on the 3rd level (nearest the avenida) have small private balconies, but no jacuzzi)

The only board basis available is bed and breakfast, but the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, it is also open to the general public.

Positives:

- They are in a great location in the heart of the new town.
- The complex is beautifully deigned and the whole atmosphere of the place is fantastic
- Each individual suite is stunning, nicely designed and comfortable
- Full size windows gibing stunning sea views
- The staff seemed very friendly, polite and helpful.

Negatives:

- The big windows mean that unless you keep the net curtains closed and loose the views then the rooms are open to public view, the jacuzzis are private only in as much as that they are for your use only, but you are on public view when you use them.
- They are pricey, the single suites without jacuzzi are around €1000 / week, the single with jacuzzi is around €1400 and the best double with jacuzzi is €2000 per week.  Each suite is individually priced depending on the facilities and prices vary depending on the season, I think the prices that we were quoted were the median for the season.

Very nice and different to what is on offer elsewhere in town. A little bit more towards the fine dining end of the scale.

Fine dining ? Include me out, I'm more of a trough of Ruby Murray with lashings of beer  ::)

LOL I'm on first name terms with the staff ! Last year I was there a 8 times in a total holiday period of 4 weeks, much to the dismay of SWMBO, she's not a big fan of Indian food. It is good though, not as good as my local, Ruchi on the Ormeau road though, but my favourite Indian in Lanzarote.
